Fly Fishing the Chattahoochee River in Atlanta, Georgia

Spring is almost here and the Chattahoochee River continues to fish good. The river is still fishing in what I like to call “Winter Mode”. It has been quality over quantity out there with the lack of stocked rainbow trout. This gives us better shots at the wild brown trout. This will all change at the end of the month. They usually start stocking the upper tailwater of the Chattahoochee River below Buford Dam at the end of March. The stocked rainbows usually take a couple of weeks to spread out then it turns into a numbers game. Give me a shout to plan a float trip.

Thanks, Davie Crawford
